Solomon Islands Meteorological Service is an essential service operate under the authority of Meteorological Act 1985. The Meteorological Act 1985 make provisions for effective and proper administration of Meteorological Service in the economic and national interest of Solomon Islands and to deal with other meteorological related matters. On 06th May 1985, Solomon Islands Meteorological Service became a member of the World Meteorological Organization.
